Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an old healing practice of traditional Chinese medicine dating back over 4,000 years. It still remains effective today as a way to strengthen the body rather than merely treating symptoms. It is primarily used to relieve pain as well as treat other conditions. More than 3 million Americans and 200,000 children in the U.S. have had acupuncture to help relieve a symptom or condition. Because of its low side effects, it has been the treatment of choice for many doctors across the country. It is even more popular in other countries.
Electro-Acupuncture
Here at Glendale Chiropractic, we specialize in Electro-Acupuncture.
This treatment takes acupuncture to the next level. Electro-Acupuncture is an addition to acupuncture therapy whereby an electric current is run from an electric machine through connecting cables and attached to the heads of acupuncture needles to assist in stimulating the muscle/fascia via differing electrotherapeutic methods. Electroacupuncture has a greater effect than a TENS machine for example for several reasons. Firstly, a TENS machine is placed on the surface of the skin and electrified, but the Electro-Acupuncture has the benefit of piercing through the skin and going deeper into the tissue.
In addition to all the positive effects of Acupuncture Electro-Acupuncture reduces the body’s production of inflammatory reactions to the specific site of injury or osteoarthritis. In addition to the overall mind body connection, it also helps to lower levels of cortisol.

Chiropractic Adjustments
A chiropractic adjustment can make you feel so much better. Your body does not want to be out of alignment, and that’s exactly what an adjustment can help address. Although many people visit their chiropractor and have an adjustment when something feels out of alignment, a regular visit will help you avoid any pain in the future and will keep your body feeling great all day long.
If you are having one of those days when you are not in the best mood, an adjustment may actually help. Your body will feel much better, which will naturally improve your mood.
Spinal Decompression
Decompression is a procedure intended to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or a compressed nerve root. This pressure is caused by narrowing or stenosis of the opening between the vertebrae. It is performed on a special table that performs an intermittent type of traction therapy that essentially works to open compressed disc spaces in the spine.
Nerves will travel from the spinal cord through intervertebral foramen, otherwise known as spaces between the vertebrae, to essentially all parts of the body. When these bony foramen or spaces become compromised the nerve can no longer travel freely through without pressure or irritation. When these nerves become irritated symptoms; including pain, numbness or tingling, weakness in arms or legs, inability to stand or walk, moderate or severe back pain or any other sciatic nerve associated symptom.
Decompression treatments opens these bony channels through which the spinal nerves pass. This creates space for them to flow freely. If you have been experiencing back pain, or have been diagnosed with Degenerative Joint Disease, Osteoarthritis of the Spine, Sciatica, Nerve Root Compression, Narrowing of the Foramen, Spinal Stenosis or you or a loved one is contemplating spinal surgery Decompression may provide relief.

Hako-Med Muscle Stimulation Therapy
Hako-Med Therapy provides non-narcotic pain relief and regeneration. It is able to do this through use of horizontal therapy. Horizontal therapy is a simultaneous combination of biochemical and bioelectrical effects of current on the human body. Communication between cells takes place in two ways: bio-electrical and bio-chemical and this applies to cells in bones, muscles, ligaments and nerve tissues. When cellular communication is impaired pain and disease occurs.
